Let the fireworks begin!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a great summer so far!

We are coming up to a busy time of the season here at Arlington. And one of my favorite times of the racing year. With the Fourth of July upon us, the following week will mark Arlington Million Preview Day on July 11, featuring several key races that could serve as preps for the Million Day card on August 8. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Giant Oak go postward in the American Derby. He looked super working out on the turf course here between races on Sunday under Eddie Razo, Jr. for trainer Chris Block. As the Arlington Classic winner, Giant Oak has a chance at the Mid-America Triple and a $500,000 bonus. The final leg, the Grade I Secretariat Stakes on Million Day, won last year by Winchester for trainer Dermot Weld, who often send horses from Europe for the Fesitval of Racing.

Also a part of Million Preview Day, The Arlington Sprint, Modesty Handicap and Arlington Handicap. Hope everyone will have a chance to join us!

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing July 3 racing (Special 4.00 post). I heard several parts of the race course have sold out, so we should have a great crowd ready for racing, entertainment and fireworks later in the night!  I've had a fun time in the past watching the show from the winners circle. So hope you and your family find a great spot too!

Hey JGD - Good show today!

Hey JGD - Good show today!

Trippit, huh? I'll be pulling for him, but I'm gonna use him in the 2nd spot again that way I won't jinx you...good luck!

Is there ANYONE else in New

Is there ANYONE else in New York (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan) besides my mom in Staten Island watching this LIVE NYC-OTB Handicapping show? Sorry we don't have any information for you guys at 9.30 (CDT). Just too early of a time (3-1/2 hours before race 1) to have any information of substance. It's frustrating...Trust me!

I actually would like to 2nd

I actually would like to 2nd that question. Not having early scratches or even track conditions is a continual source of frustration for JGD and I. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it that early in the a.m. It's nice to do a show for John's mom so she can see him more than once a year, but.....how do the rest of you feel about it? -JP

what a great weekend! (We've

what a great weekend! (We've got Trippit running today and despite being 1 for 25 he's a brisnet handicapper's edge spot play-Could today be the day?)

Let Jess know before she makes her picks that we've decided that today is the day he finally gets that elusive 2nd win!

Well I know Trippit is five

Well I know Trippit is five of nine in the money on Arlington's all weather, so maybe he will win it all today. A few others in Race 5 are also looking for that elusive second win too! Good Luck to Get In the Picture Stable!
